KSBSI President Elly Rosita Silaban, along with several labor leaders, met at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Monday (September 1, 2025).
During the meeting, Elly Rosita Silaban stated that several topics were discussed, including the current situation and conditions of the Indonesian nation. The meeting was also attended by religious leaders, youth leaders, and labor leaders, including Jumhur Hidayat, Said Iqbal, and Andi Ghani Nunawea.
“Discussing the recent protests and the security situation, the President asked for assistance from all parties to maintain security, and he also expressed his gratitude for everyone’s support,” said Elly Rosita Silaban after the meeting.
Elly stated that the right to express opinions is an individual right, but not the destruction of public facilities and looting. She reiterated that workers’ interests lie in improving labor laws.
“In the meeting, the President agreed that the Job Creation Law was flawed and agreed to discuss it further with all parties,” she explained.
President Prabowo also stated that the asset confiscation law would be discussed and enacted immediately, as well as the cancellation of facilities and allowances for members of the House of Representatives (DPR), and a moratorium on DPR travel.
Elly stated that there would be another meeting with President Prabowo, and the meeting concluded at around 9:45 PM.
