Ahead of 114th International Labour Conference (ILC), Global Trade Unions held a Meeting in Belgium

ACVCSCIASIA.ORG, Belgium – Global trade unions hold meetings ahead of 114th ILC. The forum was attended by representatives from ITUC-affiliated trade union organizations, regional organizations, and the Global Trade Union Federation involved in the work of the Committee on the Application of Standards (CAS).

The forum aimed to prepare for the 114th International Labour Conference (ILC) to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from June 1-12, 2026.

The forum aimed to prepare ITUC affiliates, regional organizations, and the Global Trade Union Federation (GUF) for effective participation in the 114th ILC. The forum also discussed the working methods, priorities, and expected outcomes of the Committee on the Application of Standards (CAS).

“This meeting provides a strategic space to exchange information, coordinate positions, and discuss the ITUC’s long list of recommendations for CAS,” President of KSBSI, Elly Rosita Silaban said, after attending recently attended the Global Pre-ILC 2026 agenda in Brussels, Belgium, on Thursday (April 16, 2026).

Elly explained that special attention will be paid to the findings and implications of the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations (CEACR) report, which will be shared and discussed once it is available.

As is known, from June 1-12, 2026, representatives of Governments, Employers, and Workers from 187 ILO Member States will gather at the International Labour Conference to discuss issues in the world of work, such as decent work in the platform economy, a transformative agenda for gender equality in the workplace, and social dialogue and tripartism.
