About Us
ACV-CSC International or ACV-CSCI is a non-profit organization formerly known as the International Institute for Worker Education (IIWE). ACV-CSCI is a development program of the Belgian General Christian Trade Union (ACV), which has reached a cross-continental network, including the Asia Pacific
It aims to represent employees’ individual and collective interests worldwide in solidarity. Social justice with a more equitable redistribution of wealth is central.
ACV-CSC International, founded in 1991, concentrates entirely on developing initiatives in the context of development cooperation. The Belgian government recognizes ACV itself as a development cooperation partner.
ACV-CSC International has programs on various continents in Asia, Africa, and Latin America and special project programs in 11 countries worldwide.
ACV-CSC International is responsible for assisting and supporting partners in the planning, monitoring, and evaluating of successive development cooperation programs. These programs are partly financed by the Belgian development cooperation authority and partly by the Belgian ACV-CSC.
ACV-CSC International promotes implementing the Decent Work agenda globally through structural collaboration with many trade union partners in the South. A small number of these partners are part of ACV-CSC International’s development cooperation program, which enables them to strengthen their capacities in workers’ rights and social dialogue.
Trade union partners involved in the ACV-CSC International development cooperation program are responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating capacity-building activities in their respective organizations and countries.
